FACT Accreditation Scheme / FAQs

What is the FACT Accreditation scheme?

Due to the increase in film piracy our Member Companies will now only use companies which have satisfactory security arrangements in place to protect their valuable product. FACT accredited companies automatically satisfy that requirement.

I have completed the online application form. What happens next?

Our FACT Accreditation Manager will contact you directly within a few days and make an appointment to visit.

Do I need to do anything before the visit?

Not specifically but on our visit we need to ask questions about the security system of the building. A member of staff who has knowledge of safety/security should be present.

What if my company does not meet the criteria?

The Accreditation Manager will base the assessment of the ‘risk’ to our members’ products. This may mean a recommendation of additional security, e.g. an addition locks, secure cabinet etc. A deficiency would not prevent the Accreditation continuing if a timescale for any improvement is agreed. If the premises do require further upgrade in security this may mean a further visit whilst the improvements are carried out.

What is the next step after the visit?

You will be sent an invoice from our accounts department. Once payment has been received you will receive a FACT Accreditation certificate and your company’s name will be displayed on our website. All FACT member companies will also be notified.
