A joint operation between FACT, West Yorkshire Trading Standards and West Yorkshire Police targeted some suspected counterfeiters across the Wakefield area in April this year. In one of the raids officers seized burning equipment, computers and around 600 DVDs and Xbox games. Officers also seized pornographic material.
Further investigations revealed that the female arrested was currently claiming incapacity benefit. The matter has currently been furthered to the Department for Work and Pensions for further investigation.

Location: Pontefract, West Yorkshire
A joint operation between FACT, West Yorkshire Trading Standards and West Yorkshire Police resulted in the discovery of a cannabis factory. Police entered on the property on the Trade Marks Act warrant and found over 1000 DVDs, half of which were pornographic. Upon searching the loft area of the house a full cannabis factory was found. West Yorkshire Police seized the entire product along with the cannabis factory.
The defendant was arrested and received a caution for both offences.
